Connecting with my Soul used to feel impossible.
On the one hand, I felt so guided by my Soul throughout many challenging transitions in my
life.
On the other hand, when I would pause to meditate, which at the time, I believed was the only way to connect with my Soul, my brain would flood with worry and endless to-do lists.
I was a middle school teacher and mother of five so you can imagine how packed my brain felt when I tried to go within.
It was so mentally painful to sit still, that I truly believed that I was somehow broken and couldn't meditate.
Through much trial and error, and many desperate requests to Spirit begging for a way, I discovered that rather than using a traditional form of mediation, for me, short pauses throughout the day, where I practiced RECEIVING from my Soul was the
key.
To be clear, meditation is a powerful way to connect with your Soul and eventually I leaned to do that, and now teach others as well.
But these little rituals of receiving are a foundational part of cultivating your Soul relationship.
In my book,
Answering Your Inner Calling, I call these, Interrupter Rituals because they are Divinely interrupting the ego, which always wants us to look outside ourselves for answers.
Below is a simple Interrupter Ritual you can follow to start receiving from your Soul today and everyday.
Simple Interrupter Ritual
1.Pause
2. Bring the palms of your hands over your heart.
3. Connect with your breath.
4. Let your Soul know you want to receive its love, wisdom, clarity (you fill in the blank). You can simply say something like:
Beautiful Soul, I'm ready to receive your love.
Alternatively, you can ask
your Soul a question, like:
Beautiful Soul, What's my next right step?
5. Enter a state of allowing/welcoming/receiving. Use your imagination if that's helpful. I like to imagine that I'm a flower receiving the light of the sun.
6. Do this for a few seconds or up
to 3 minutes.
7. Repeat this process throughout the day. I recommend at least three times.

Remember your Soul is just as eager to talk to you as you are to connect with it.
