In my most recent podcast episode, I spoke about self-doubt as a kind of poison that quietly infiltrates the helper heart.
It’s something I know intimately.
For many years, I
experienced crippling self-doubt that left me frozen in decision-making. I'd often began sentences with “I don’t know,” even when, deep in my body and Soul, I actually did know.
Over 16 years of coaching helpers like you, I’ve come to see self-doubt not as a personal flaw, but as a widespread affliction.
Almost a plague among those who are deeply caring, intuitive, and called
to serve.
It’s also one of the primary things I help my clients heal.
What I’ve learned is this: self-doubt can be addictive.
Any addiction shows up as an urge that feels difficult to control, and at its core, it believes it is protecting us.
So I invite you to pause for a moment and
bring to mind something you’re currently feeling self-doubt about. Maybe it’s subtle, maybe it feels overwhelming.
- Perhaps you feel called to teach or lead, but doubt what to teach, where to share it, or whether anyone will listen.
- Or you're guided to seek help, join a class, hire a coach but you doubt your ability to change, to do the work, to commit to yourself so you don't even
try.
- Maybe you’re guided to share your wisdom more visibly, online or in your community, yet you doubt your clarity, your voice, or even your expertise.
- Or maybe you know it’s time to end something, a job, a relationship, an old way of serving, but you find yourself looping in the question, “Is this the right decision?”
In those moments, I invite you to ask a different question:
What is this self-doubt protecting me from?
Here’s a gentle truth. Self-doubt arises from the egoic mind, the part of us that equates safety with sameness.
Its job is to keep things familiar, even when familiar no longer serves our
Soul.
So, my dear, how is the self-doubt you’re experiencing keeping you the same?
- Is it keeping you from growing?
- From expanding?
- From becoming more visible?
- From stepping outside your comfort zone?
- From saying yes to something that excites you because you fear failure?
- Or from saying no to something that drains you because you fear disappointing someone else?
And perhaps most importantly, how is this actually not keeping you
safe?
Because staying the same is not safety.
It may feel comfortable in the short term, but over time it becomes a quiet erosion of your true self.
A slow leak of your life force, your vitality, your light, and ultimately your power.
The opposite of self-doubt is not
certainty.
It’s sovereignty.
Presence.
Embodied empowerment.
And this version of you is needed now.
It’s the version you’ve been preparing for, often without even realizing it.
The one that’s ready to emerge, not
through force, but through alignment.
The time is here.
The time is now.
If this resonates, I warmly invite you to join my first masterclass of the year:
